Wheelchair-friendly holiday homes hit the mark
Amsterdam – An adjustment on a holiday home has quite a positive influence. For example in Bütgenbach, where a house that has been made completely wheelchair-friendly, receives much better reviews.
This unique holiday home is located in the middle of a quiet and wooded area in the German-speaking part of Belgium. Owner Jos has adapted the house to all the wishes of people with disabilities. Because the number of holiday homes where disabled guests can stay is still low, Jos has jumped into this gap in the market.
Rating of 4.7
Since the renovation, the holiday home has attracted a new kind of guests who can really appreciate the changes coming into the house. Belvilla therefore sees an increase in the number of positive reviews. The house is now rated with a 4.7 on a scale from 1 to 5.
A carefree holiday
“The reason for customizing the house is because I got inspired by a client,” says homeowner Jos. “She lost her leg because of an accident and indicated how difficult it was to find a holiday home where she could stay with the rest of her family. In our house, everything is there to be able to offer less to non-mobile guests a carefree holiday.” Think of a wheelchair for the shower, but also a separate wheelchair for in and around the house. But this is not all: the house also received an upgrade with movable braces where people can pull themselves up. “My wife and I hope that we can receive many more people who are lesser abled to offer them a carefree holiday.” Click here to read the whole story.
