Valentine’s Day: Romantic Belvilla hideaways from the Unique Homes Collection
Vienna, January 20, 2022 – On February 14, couples in love will celebrate Valentine’s Day in many countries around the world. Belvilla by OYO has selected some of the most romantic hideaway homes from the Unique Homes campaign, which are an ideal domicile for lovers. This is because each home from the Belvilla by OYO portfolio tells its own story, which is as unique as each individual love story.
About Valentine’s Day:
Responsible for Valentine’s Day is Saint Valentine of Terni, who was the third-century bishop of the Italian city of Terni. Despite being forbidden by Emperor Claudius Gothicus, Valentine, as a Roman priest, is said to have married lovers according to Christian rites and presented them with flowers from his garden. When the emperor found out about this, he had Valentine executed on February 14, 269 AD. Today, lovers in many countries around the world celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14 in his honor.

This town with a unique identity is surrounded by water and forests and organizes entertaining events throughout the year. Farver Mill, Germany
The Farver Mill has stood in the middle of the field for nearly 200 years. Guests use a hand-forged key to enter the interior of the unique vacation home. At first glance, they are fascinated by the historic mill technology that has been preserved over all these years. It almost seems as if time stands still in this magical place. Especially when it gets cold outside and the first autumn storms make themselves felt, the mill conveys a feeling of warmth and security. The historic building is also a popular spot for photographers. With a rape field in bloom or a starry sky in the background, the mill is often depicted on calendars and postcards.
La Gotta, Italy
La Grotta by Petrella Guidi is a property that has been passed down from generation to generation. It is part of an old castle that was completely renovated in 2013. It is located in a unique position, in a rock wall, which is why it is also called “Grotta”. This medieval work of art is ideal for couples seeking peace and quiet. In a medieval setting, full of history, staying in this extraordinary vacation home, is like a journey into the past surrounded by the beautiful hills of the Apennines. The very position on the top of the hill near the valley of Montefeltro and San Marino makes this accommodation unique. The view from the Old Tower (the highest point of Petrella) is not to be missed. Moreover, Petrella Guidi is an ideal starting point for beautiful excursions in the surrounding area.
Castle with private garden, Belgium
This authentic chateau was purchased by the current owners in 2020 and subsequently completely renovated and equipped with modern comforts such as a sauna, a small private cinema, a steam shower, massage chairs and a beautiful terrace. For those who like to have a romantic picnic, there is a private picnic area outside, as well as an obstacle course for fun in the garden. Nature lovers can visit nearby Namur with its citadel, just 10 km from the accommodation, or the steep cliffs of Dinant 30 minutes away by car. Nearby Mozet is one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia and a visit to the prehistoric caves of Goyet is also worthwhile.
Trullo dell’Ulivo, Italy
Trullis are indeed unique in the world. Their shape is iconic: the white, cone-shaped stone is a symbol that immediately brings to mind Alberobello, Puglia and Italy. Thanks to the olive trees and the picturesque atmosphere, guests have the opportunity to have an authentic experience in a unique place in the world, a fantastic and timeless place that takes them to a fairytale world far from the present and everyday life. The Trullo dell’Ulivo is fully equipped and has a private garden with a characteristic centuries-old olive tree.
