BELVILLA: PRE-SEASON BOOKINGS INCREASE BY 48% 

 

  • Belvilla recorded an increase in vacation home reservations in the months of May and June in Spain.
  • Spaniards (23%), followed by Dutch (18%), Germans (16%) and British (14%) are the travelers who most visit houses in Spain in both months. The Costa Blanca, the Costa Brava or the Costa del Sol are the most chosen destinations in this period.
  • Domestic tourism: Spaniards have no doubts about it and 77% of their reservations have been in holiday homes in Spain, which shows that this is an increasingly popular type of accommodation also for trips in our country.

Madrid, June 7, 2022. Belvilla, an expert in vacation homes that belongs to OYO, an international group specializing in travel technology, analyzes the booking trend for the months of May and June.

The company registers an increase in bookings in Spain (+48%) in both months. In this period, almost a quarter of stays in Spanish destinations have been booked by Spanish travelers (23%), 18% by Dutch, 16% by Germans and 14% by British.

Spain continues to be a relevant destination for domestic and international tourism. In fact, in these months, 77% of Spaniards have chosen holiday homes in Spain, while 20% of British reservations have also been for our country.

As far as national and European traveler trends are concerned, Mediterranean destinations continue to be the protagonists. The Costa Blanca, the Costa Brava or the Costa del Sol are the most chosen in Spain for stays in the months of May and June.

In fact, and according to the data extracted by Belvilla, there are increases in reserves in some of the most traditionally demanded regions. This shows that the traveler likes (and a lot) to travel out of season. Compared to 2021, some of the main increases have been recorded in: Costa Blanca (+66%); Costa Brava (+44%); Costa del Sol (+83%); Mallorca (+138%) and North of Spain (+300%).

More popular. This year, not only Spaniards stay in holiday homes in Spain, we also observe that Germans, Dutch, British and French choose a destination in the country”.
